Howl 10 // Audio [Foreward-dated to 8 AM Nov 13th]
Mikaela, I found you a dream catcher.
[It's stated rather blandly, the opposite of her usually bright words and tone. Wolf says nothing for a moment, then sucks in a breath, giving a rather hysterical sounding laugh.]
It figures I would find something like this on my birthday of all fucking d-days. I... I can't...
[The last word almost comes out as a sob, and there's muffled breathing for a second before the transmission times out, Wolf obviously in no condition to talk any more.]

BANG BANG BANG.]

[She doesn't want you to see her like this again, dammit.]

[She'll stand here all night if she has to.]

[She's just sitting on her bed, kinda looking at the door. She's wondering if she can just manage to shove the dream catcher at her and close it again quick.]

Rea...

The dream catcher's sitting on the bed in front of her, along with a picture of something.]

What happened...?

They're gone.
[It's a nice photograph, properly framed and everything. The Sarea Mikaela will remember from last time is at the center of the picture, surrounded by six men with the same colour scheme and several other young women, all smiling and posed in some way.
It's obvious that these are her brothers and their mates.]

She takes a deep, steady breath, then sets it aside and drags her friend in close.
What do you say? Is there anything to say? She's not sure anymore.]
no subject
She can't even talk, but having a friend there helps; Rea can't deal with this alone.]
no subject
No. She buries her head into Sarea's shoulder and tries to muffle her own tears.]

She's sob along with her friend until her tears are spent. Could possibly be a while.]

Rea what be wrong?
[text]
[The mere fact that she isn't talking should be a warning signal.]
[Audio]

K-Kevas?
[Commentlog]
[Commentlog]
T-they're gone.
[Commentlog]
Kevas reaches out to gently stroke her cheek. Poor girl, he knows what she's going through.]
Dey ain't be gone. Not entirely.
[Commentlog]
It didn't... didn't stick t-till now... w-what that thing said... not till I f-found...
[Wolf swallows back a sob, just lifting the frame she'd been holding onto. It's a family portrait, obviously from some years back, because Sarea has no tail or scar in it. The men are obviously her brothers; they all have the same colouring.]
[Commentlog]
Instead of saying anything he slowly pulls Sarea into a hug, giving her his shoulder to cry into.]
Dey know joo loved dem Rea, just like dey know joo would be dere if jah could.
[Commentlog]
S'not f-fair... w-why did I get picked, and they got l-left behind...? N-not fair...!
[Commentlog]
Dat be a question I be askin' myself, but I ain't sure dere be real ansah to it.
[Actually he knows there isn't after talking to the heron.]
We be here now, and we gotta live fuh dem. Don't t'ink joor family would be happy if joo were dead too.
[Commentlog]
[She swallows; Reais undeniably grateful that he's here; Kevas has long since become the equivalent to Taylor, the brother she could always rely on.
Still, it's... hard to talk about him, but-]
...h-he said... as long as one of us lives, t-the pack... the pack survives, it... it i-isn't gone.
I... I want to believe that, b-but...
[Commentlog]
No, he be right. Dey all live on wid joo. Joo be carryin' on dere spirit.
[He pulls back and looks her in the eyes.]
And joo ain't be alone eiddah. I be right here wid joo. Always will.
[Commentlog]
[She's trying to calm down, really, and he's helping, he really, truly is, but it's taking longer to get over it.
Rea can't help but smile - a sad smile, but still a smile - at his last words, trying to laugh a little.]
I... k-kind of have a new pack, I-I guess... you an'Mikaela...
[Commentlog]
Joo do, and it just gonna get biggah.
[Commentlog]
[She's still managing to laugh a little, doing her best to blink away any remaining tears.][Now she can't help but grin, wryly.]
I'm 'to outspoken and blunt', or so Taylor always s-said.
[Commentlog]
[Commentlog]
Guess I just finally found people that could put up with me, h-heh...
[Commentlog]
Please, compared to most I had to deal wid back home, spendin' time wid joo be a relief. Joo couldn't evah drive me off.
